AOB BRINGS RECYCLED DECKS BACK TO BOSTON AND SAN DIEGO SKATESHOPS IN FORM OF SKATE TILE WALLS August 21 2013, 64 Comments

In an age where “culture vultures” swoop in, grow their businesses in the local skateshop and then leave them for big box retailers, AOB and I Ride I Recycle are all about giving these shops the support and recognition they deserve. So, we’re super stoked to have 100% skater-owned and operated shops like Orchard in Boston, MA and McGill’s in Encinitas, CA involved in our movement.

Orchard just opened up their second location on Newbury Street in Boston where owner Broderick Gumpright wrapped a column with AOB skate tile showing pieces of actual decks that once belonged to their customers.  The AOB team also just finished a skate tile feature wall made up of customer decks in McGill’s Skateshop, owned by legendary Bones Brigade rider, Mike McGill.

These skate tile features not only add an engaging and totally original aesthetic to the shops, they also show the local skaters and community a tangible result of their skateboard recycling efforts. Support your local skateshop!
